St Kilda AFL legend Nicky Winmar has been convicted of three assault charges after attacking a woman at a Cohuna motel. The 60-year-old grabbed the victim by her arm, dragged her by her hair, and slammed her head into a door four times. The magistrate rejected Winmar's self-defence claim and found the victim to be honest and reliable despite inconsistencies in her testimony attributed to trauma.
