Authorities are urgently testing a sick giant petrel found north of Newcastle, amid fears the deadly H5N1 strain of bird flu may have reached New South Wales. Australia has recorded confirmed H5N1 cases in Western Australia and South Australia, but officials say there is currently no evidence of wider spread to wild birds and the poultry industry has not been impacted.
