Beyond the supernatural plot The Exorcist carries a deeper subtext of family trauma regarding Regan's home schooled isolation in a broken family. Her career focused Mother leaves most of the parenting duties to the home tutor Sharon. Both the novel and film carry a subtext that Regan's behaviour might be a pathological reaction against the broken family and parental neglect situation. This video is a clip from Rob Ager's upcoming longform video "Famly psychology and the pathology of demonic possession in The Exorcist". Details on the full video will be available in the coming days at my site ... WEBSITE: https://collativelearning.com #theexorcist #possession #familypsychology
