A man in his 50s has been sentenced to ten years in prison for murdering a Scottish woman on a Greek island 17 years ago. The body of 53-year-old Jean Hanlon, from Dumfries, was recovered from the water at Heraklion harbour in Crete in March 2009. Authorities on the island initially ruled her death an accidental drowning, but her family suspected foul play and called for the investigation to be reopened. • Subscribe to ITV News on YouTube: http://bit.ly/2lOHmNj • Get breaking news and more stories at http://www.itv.com/news Follow ITV News on TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@itvnews?lang=en Follow ITV News on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/itvnews/ Follow ITV News on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/itvnews/ Follow ITV News on X: https://twitter.com/itvnews
