Russia's General Staff on July 5 claimed its forces had captured Konstantinovka, a major industrial and logistics hub in Ukraine's Donetsk region, describing the city as the gateway to Kyiv's remaining defensive positions in the Donbass. First Deputy Chief of the General Staff Sergei Rudskoy said the city, heavily fortified by Ukrainian forces since 2014, fell after offensive operations by Russia's Southern Group of Forces. Moscow said the capture represented a significant step toward control of the broader Kramatorsk-Sloviansk area. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the seizure an important milestone in weakening Ukrainian forces along the front. Ukraine had not commented on the Russian claim at the time of publication, though Kyiv's military said it had repelled multiple Russian attacks in the area a day earlier. #konstantinovka, #donbass, #ukrainewar, #russiaukrainewar, #russia, #ukraine, #putin, #donetsk, #kramatorsk, #sloviansk, #breakingnews, #worldnews, #militarynews, #fr
