Leaders allied to the Linda Mwananchi movement have insisted they have a realistic chance of taking over the country's leadership, arguing that growing public frustration with the state of the nation has created a favourable political environment for change. Speaking separately in Ahero, Kisumu County, and in Bungoma during a funeral service, the leaders maintained that they will support whoever emerges as the opposition coalition's single presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 General Election. Meanwhile, a section of leaders from the Western Kenya region said Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna is well placed to challenge President William Ruto.
