NEW YORK — Celebrating America’s historic 250th birthday and its own milestone 50th anniversary, the annual Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular illuminated the New York City skyline with a record-breaking display of over 85,000 pyrotechnic shells. Originally scheduled for 9:25 PM, severe weather and incoming storms forced organizers to shift the launch to an earlier start time of 9:02 PM. The massive 27-minute pyrotechnic show featured a kaleidoscope of 30 vibrant colors and unique shapes launched from four barges on the lower East River, two barges on the lower Hudson River, and the iconic Brooklyn Bridge itself. Synchronized with a laser light show across the Brooklyn Bridge and a score by Grammy-winning composer Jason Howland featuring live vocals by Alexia Jayy, the event also boasted musical performances from Post Malone, Blake Shelton, Noah Kahan, Salt-N-Pepa, Bebe Rexha, and Shaboozey.
