The Israeli military has carried out air strikes on the Nabatieh area in southern Lebanon, targeting what it said were Hezbollah positions. The strikes come despite a recent framework agreement between Israel and Lebanon aimed at reducing hostilities. Israeli forces said the targets were fighters who posed a threat to troops, while local sources have not confirmed casualties. Emergency teams have been unable to reach the strike sites due to ongoing military activity in the area. The latest attack follows continued Israeli artillery shelling and drone operations across southern Lebanon. Lebanese officials say such actions amount to ceasefire violations, while Israel argues they fall within the scope of the agreement. The situation remains tense, with Hezbollah largely refraining from large-scale retaliation since the ceasefire. However, concerns persist that continued strikes could further destabilise the fragile understanding between the two sides. Al Jazeera’s Heidi Pett reports from
