Sky to pay £1.6bn for ITV's broadcast and streaming division

ITV has agreed a £1.6bn deal with Sky, the owner of Sky News, for its media and entertainment arm following months of talks. The deal includes the ITVX platform, along with ITV's free-to-air channels, but not ITV's studio operations. Chief executive of Sky, Dana Strong told Sky "this is an extraordinary opportunity to bring together what I would say are two of the most iconic brands in media."
