Across the UK in the 1950s, 60s and 70s its estimated over 185,000 pregnant women were forced to give up their babies for adoption because they were unmarried, and therefore deemed unfit to raise a child. She joins us to share her story and tell us how she feels following the government’s recent official apology to victims, alongside Professor Gordon Harold, who undertook research into the mental impact these historic practices had on those involved.
