Humor is often seen as a rare talent, something you either have or don’t. In this talk, Akash challenges that idea and shows how humor already exists in everyone’s life, rooted in lived experience, observation, and empathy. Drawing from stand-up comedy and science, he explores how laughter emerges from tension and why humor can be a powerful tool for connection. Especially in divisive times, humor can help us find unexpected common ground and remind us of our shared humanity. Akash Nair founded the Comedy Factory, Freiburg's first comedy club. His mission: to bring more stand-up comedy to Freiburg. At his workshops, you can learn how to be funny. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
