Australia has raised concerns after China conducted a test launch of a nuclear-capable intercontinental ballistic missile in the Pacific region. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says the launch was a “provocative act” that raises serious concerns for regional stability, as Australia strengthens security ties with Pacific neighbours. The missile, believed to be the JL-2 “Julang” submarine-launched ballistic missile, has a reported range of around 9,000 kilometres, putting Australia within reach.
