What happens when artificial intelligence starts to feel more human than we do? As AI rapidly transforms our world—writing, thinking, and communicating—this talk explores the bigger risk we face: losing genuine human connection. While technology has always enhanced our abilities, AI challenges our identity in ways never seen before. The real question is not what AI can do, but what we should allow it to replace. Scott Shaper is a full-time faculty member in the Computer Science department, where he teaches programming. Over the past year, he has integrated artificial intelligence into his work, using it to develop curriculum materials such as books, assessments, and instructional videos. He is currently designing a course focused on building AI agents. His recent experiences with AI inspired him to give this TEDx talk. Outside the classroom, Scott enjoys spending time with his wife and son, who keep him grounded in an increasingly AI-driven world. This talk was given at a TEDx event us
