Nigel Farage says he will resign as MP amid a scandal over gifts and benefits he received before being elected in 2024, but insists he will run in the ensuing by-election for Clacton-on-Sea. Parliament is investigating whether Farage should have declared a £5 million gift given by cryptocurrency billionaire, Christopher Harborne, and the investigation could be expanded after the Sunday Times revealed benefits from his advisor, George Cottrell, who was previously jailed for fraud in the US in 2017.
