Affectionately known as Blak Christmas, NAIDOC Week is when communities across the nation come together to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of First Nations people. This year's NAIDOC Week has the theme '50 Years of Deadly', reflecting on half a century of First Nations achievements. But NAIDOC Week has a longer political history and a very personal one for Wiradjuri Elder Norma Ingram. For more than 50 years, NAIDOC Week has provided a platform for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to engage in truth-telling, celebration and protest. NAIDOC Week began on Sunday and continues until 12 July, with community events, cultural exhibitions and workshops being staged across the country. Via NITV News Read more: https://bit.ly/3T3rIjx
