A major search and rescue operation is underway after a Boeing 737 cargo aircraft carrying five crew members disappeared over the Arabian Sea while approaching Karachi from Sharjah. According to Pakistani authorities, the crew reported a navigation system problem shortly before radar showed the aircraft making a rapid descent and abrupt course change. Contact with air traffic control was then lost, with the last known position about 155 nautical miles west of Karachi.
