Former US Men's goalkeeper and English premier league veteran Brad Friedel has called the decision to suspend US striker Folarin Balogun's match-ban 'wrong', adding that it opens up a 'can of worms' for other government interventions. Folarin Balogun had a red card match-ban overturned following intervention by President Donald Trump, who says he called Fifa President Gianni Infantino about the decision. Despite this, the US lost 1-4 against Belgium, but Friedel said it was 'a shame' that the controversy took over the buildup to the game. #worldcup #football #fifa #balogun #redcard • Subscribe to ITV News on YouTube: http://bit.ly/2lOHmNj • Get breaking news and more stories at http://www.itv.com/news Follow ITV News on TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@itvnews?lang=en Follow ITV News on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/itvnews/ Follow ITV News on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/itvnews/ Follow ITV News on X: https://twitter.com/itvnews
