One of the main accused in the rape and murder of a 12-year-old girl in West Bengal's Baruipur has been killed in a police encounter. According to police, Prabhas Mondal was taken to the crime scene in Suryapur early on July 8 to recreate the sequence of events. Police said that just before the reconstruction began, Mondal allegedly snatched a police officer's service weapon, fired a round at the police team and tried to escape.
