“I'll do it.” Those three words changed Shawn Walsh's life forever. Most people remember 9/11. Few talk about 9/12. After surviving the Pentagon attack, Walsh found himself responsible for helping recover and account for the dead. In this unforgettable TEDx talk, he reveals how responsibility arrives before we feel ready for it, and how the moments we never choose ultimately define who we become. Shawn Walsh is an author, strategist, and retired U.S. Army Colonel whose work in logistics, energy, and sustainment helped shape U.S. and allied military doctrine. During more than 25 years of military service, he held command and staff assignments worldwide, including Bosnia, Iraq, Germany, Korea, and the Pentagon. Following his Army career, he led initiatives focused on strengthening energy resilience and modernizing critical federal infrastructure. A graduate of The Citadel and the United States Army War College, Walsh is a Bronze Star recipient with more than four decades of leadership
