As Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky attends the Nato summit in Turkey, Russia's war effort appears to be under increasing pressure. Ukraine's drone and missile strikes have reached deep into Russian territory, targeting oil refineries around Moscow and St Petersburg, and leading to widespread fuel shortages and rationing. But will this push Vladimir Putin to the negotiating table for peace talks, as Kyiv hopes? Or will the Russian leader maintain, or even expand, his war aims? At the Nato summit, President Donald Trump told Mr Zelensky that he would give Ukraine permission to build its own Patriot missile systems. But he has also been speaking to Mr Putin, as Kyiv and the Kremlin compete for Mr Trump's attention. We speak to the BBC's diplomatic correspondent James Landale, in Washington.
