US President Donald Trump has threatened further strikes against Iran while saying he does not expect the war to resume. Speaking on the final day of the NATO summit in Ankara, Trump said US forces could attack Iran again after strikes on Iranian military targets, but added that diplomacy remains possible. He accused Tehran of acting “dishonourably” and suggested measures including a possible naval blockade and taking control of Kharg Island. US officials said the strikes targeted around 80 Iranian military sites after Washington accused Tehran of interfering with commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran condemned the attacks as violations of the ceasefire memorandum, while mediators including Pakistan urged both sides to return to dialogue.
