US strikes Iran as Khamenei funeral continues

Iran launched more ballistic missile strikes on Jordan Thursday afternoon after earlier attacks on US bases in other Gulf states. It follows a second night of US strikes on some 90 targets in Iran, while Israel said tonight that it was ready to attack Iran for a third time "if necessary". [Subscribe to our Substack newsletter: https://channel4news.substack.com/subscribe] The growing conflict has stopped more ships passing the Strait of Hormuz, with Iran claiming the agreement gave it control of all passage until a final deal is negotiated and the Americans trying to open up the route on the Omani side of the water without coordinating with Tehran. It is all a battle over who goes into the next stage of talks in the dominant position with Iran knowing that if it allows traffic to pass without its control the payment mechanism it wants to introduce will be doomed.
