Against the backdrop of soaring energy prices and rampant inflation, many Western countries have been gripped by a cost-of-living crisis, triggering widespread protests and strikes that have left their populations reeling. Meanwhile, some Western media have been peddling the "China Shock 2.0" narrative, portraying China's ascent in high-tech sectors as a new wave of disruption to the global economy. A CGTN stringer interviewed Italian residents about the narrative. They see things differently. Many interviewees said China has contributed to Italy's economic growth and shown strong capabilities in technology and manufacturing. Rather than viewing China as a threat, they hope for closer Italy-China cooperation and mutual benefit instead of growing economic confrontation. 📺 Subscribe to our YouTube channel and stay updated with our latest analysis and interviews:👇 https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgrNz-aDmcr2uuto8_DL2jg 👈 Download our APP on Apple Store (iOS): https://itunes.apple.c
