There's a big difference between reporting crime and teaching people to become suspicious of success. If someone is committing fraud, laundering money, stealing, or breaking the law, absolutely report it. No one should be above the law. But that is not the part that sits right with me here. What bothers me is the mindset behind it all. The idea that if someone has a nice car, a boat, a business, or a good life, the automatic assumption is that something must be wrong. That says a lot about where we are as a culture. Australia should be a country that encourages people to build, create, take risks, work hard, invest wisely and get ahead. Instead, more and more it feels like success is treated with suspicion and ambition makes people uncomfortable. That is not healthy. You don't build a strong country by teaching people to resent success. You don't encourage entrepreneurship by making wealth look like a crime scene. And you don't create a better future by making hardworking people
