Thousands of fans lined the streets to welcome Egypt's national football team home after the country's best-ever World Cup campaign. The Pharaohs reached the World Cup knockout stage for the first time in their history before their dramatic 3-2 defeat to Argentina in the last 16. The Egyptian Football Association has accused FIFA of "fixing" the match and called for an investigation into the refereeing and the use of VAR.
