On Tuesday, ICE agents fatally shot Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, a 35-year resident of the United States and father of three, after he was pulled over while driving to a construction site. In a statement, DHS said Araujo “weaponized his vehicle” and tried to run over an agent, but there is no evidence to support this account. Now, Araujo’s family is demanding an independent investigation and the release of all evidence associated with the incident. “This ends in tragedy every time,” Joe says, criticizing the administration’s aggressive push to detain high numbers of migrants.
