Health advocates say limited access to screening, the high cost of treatment and low public awareness are among the main reasons cancer continues to claim more lives in Kenya. Speaking during the 15th anniversary fundraising luncheon of the Africa Cancer Foundation in Nairobi, the advocates called for expanded early detection programmes and the decentralisation of cancer care, saying the measures are critical to improving survival rates and reducing the country's cancer burden.
