Doctors and activists gathered outside the Rome Medical Association in Italy to demand the release of Palestinian paediatrician Dr Husam Abu Safiya, who has been held in Israeli custody since December 2024. Demonstrators carried Palestinian flags and placards reading "Providing medical care is not a crime" and "Free Dr Husam Abu Safiya," while members of Doctors for Gaza called for the release of all Palestinian healthcare workers detained by Israel.
