On Thursday, Canada and the United States agreed to open the Gordie Howe International Bridge by the end of July, CBC has learned. Dominic LeBlanc, the minister responsible for Canada-U.S. trade, and Canada's Ambassador to the U.S. Mark Wiseman have been in talks with U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and U.S. Ambassador to Canada Pete Hoekstra ever since the postponement of the bridge's June 12 ribbon-cutting ceremony.
