America is returning to the moon, but there is a threat to that mission that almost no one is talking about. Tyler Bernstein reveals the vulnerability hiding in plain sight, and the surprisingly compact solution he is building to solve it. Tyler Bernstein is the Co-Founder and CEO of Zeno Power, a company building nuclear batteries – compact power systems that can generate reliable electricity for a decade. Founded in 2018, Zeno is developing these systems to power frontier missions, from persistent infrastructure on the ocean seabed to long-duration operations on the lunar surface. Under his leadership, the company has secured more than $135M in funding, including $75M in private capital and $60M in contracts with the Pentagon and NASA, and is on track to commercialize its nuclear batteries for maritime and space applications by 2027. Tyler has been recognized on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list and as a Thiel Fellow. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format
