Dermot Murnaghan has died aged 68 after a period of illness with prostate cancer. Over his five decade career, Mr Murnaghan presented the news for Channel 4, ITV, BBC and Sky. He died peacefully with his family at his side. They thanked the medical teams who cared for him for their sensitivity and compassion throughout his illness.
