Kindiki pledges community rights in Kaptagat Forest

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has assured residents of Elgeyo-Marakwet County that they will be granted controlled user rights in restored sections of the Kaptagat Forest after completion of the first phase of the rehabilitation programme. Speaking during the 10th edition of the Kaptagat Integrated Conservation Programme, Kindiki said the government will continue supporting forest restoration efforts across the country as it works towards its target of planting 15 billion trees by 2032.
