South Korea is rolling out a nationwide plan to tackle youth suicide. It involves fifteen government ministries with the aim to halve the suicide rate by 2035. The plan includes an AI system to detect warning signs on social media. It will also place professional counsellors in every school across South Korea. The plan has been welcomed and criticised in equal measure and also raised internet privacy concerns. Al Jazeera’s Jack Barton reports from Seoul, South Korea.
