Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood has paid tribute to Ann Widdecombe following the former Conservative MP's murder. Widdecombe was found dead in her home last Thursday, and a murder investigation was subsequently launched. The Home Secretary said: "The circumstances of her death are extremely distressing. Counter terrorism police have now taken the lead in the investigation."
