Infotrak poll puts Ruto ahead in 2027 presidential race

President William Ruto has maintained the lead among presidential aspirants ahead of the 2027 General Election, according to a new Infotrak poll. The national assessment of Kenya’s political mood ahead of the 2027 General Election places Ruto’s popularity at 32 per cent support among voters, up from 21 per cent in August 2025 and 28 per cent in December 2025. Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka comes a distant second at 13 per cent, while Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Jubilee Party Deputy Party Leader Fred Matiang’i are tied at 12 per cent each. For the presidential ticket pairing, the poll shows that Professor Kithure Kindiki remains the most preferred running mate for President William Ruto with a 34 per cent approval rating, ahead of Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga with 11 per cent support, followed by ODM leader Oburu Odinga at 9 per cent. The survey also identified the ticket of Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna as the most preferred opposition pair
