The victim and his grandson were capturing images of the bison from a distance when the animal unexpectedly targeted them, according to eyewitnesses and video footage. The attack happened on July 10, but is not a lone incident. On June 26, a 12-year-old visitor was injured by a bison in the park and transported to a nearby hospital, according to the National Park Service. The incident remains under investigation.
