Universities could face fines should they fail to stamp out racism. Under new standards, tertiary institutions will be required to adopt definitions of racism, including antisemitism, Islamophobia and prejudice against Indigenous people. The governance changes will come into force on Monday as part of measures to combat antisemitism. At the same time, a new block of antisemitism royal commission hearings is beginning, continuing to examine hatred directed towards Jewish people on campuses.
