For the first time, China has successfully deployed drones in remote areas without 4G/5G coverage or ground positioning signals for the first time. The achievement was realized in the mountainous area of Yunan Province, using an independently developed satellite-direct connection system to guide the drones. This innovation overcomes a major industry challenge, enabling precise, real-time inspections and video transmission in remote, high-altitude areas, significantly enhancing the safety and efficiency of powerline maintenance.
