US President Donald Trump said on Monday that the United States would take on a greater role in securing the Strait of Hormuz, announcing plans to reinstate a blockade targeting Iranian shipping and proposing a 20% fee on cargo transiting the waterway. Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi responded that Iran has always been the guardian of the Strait of Hormuz and will remain so, saying those ensuring safe passage should be compensated but that the proposed 20% fee was too high. The statements came amid escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran over the strategic waterway, a key route for global energy shipments. 📺 Subscribe to our YouTube channel and stay updated with our latest analysis and interviews:👇 https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgrNz-aDmcr2uuto8_DL2jg 👈 Download our APP on Apple Store (iOS): https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cctvnews-app/id922456579?l=zh&ls=1&mt=8 Download our APP on Google Play (Android): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=co
