Sen. Angus King, I-ME, is calling for a “transparent and honest” investigation involving state officials into the shooting death of 26-year-old Joan Sebastian Guerrero at the hands of a federal immigration agent. “The people of Maine are not going to buy an investigation that’s strictly run by the FBI or DHS,” King tells Joe. DHS claims Guerrero, who was legally authorized to work in the U.S., tried to flee the scene after being pulled over. State and local police are investigating the shooting, but local politicians fear federal authorities could try to block the state from key evidence and information.
