The secretary general of the International Maritime Organisation has told Sky News that Donald Trump has no legal basis under international law to impose a 20% fee on shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Traffic through the critical waterway has collapsed dramatically, with just 10 vessel crossings recorded yesterday compared to 50 on 7 July.
