Chief Economic Adviser (CEA) V. Anantha Nageswaran participated in the release of the trial Index of Services Production (ISP) in New Delhi, marking a major step in strengthening India's economic statistics. Introduced by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), the monthly index will serve as the services-sector counterpart to the Index of Industrial Production (IIP), offering a high-frequency measure of formal services activity. With the services sector contributing over half of India's Gross Value Added (GVA), the ISP is expected to improve economic monitoring, policymaking and short-term growth assessment. Trial indices use 2024-25 as the base year and will be released monthly with a 60-day lag. #CEA #VAnanthaNageswaran #MoSPI #ISP #IndexOfServicesProduction #IndianEconomy #ServicesSector #EconomicData #GDP #Statistics #NewDelhi #Economy #Policy #India #BusinessNews Thank you for watching our video!
