Police are facing serious questions over their handling of the Ann Widdecombe murder probe, after officers U-turned on claims the killing was "not political", days before counter-terrorism police seized control of the case. The suspect has now been re-arrested under the Terrorism Act 2000, giving detectives the power to detain for up to 14 days without charge. Security expert Dr Paul Stott says the force's initial statement may have been "mangled," branding the investigation "a very inexact science" as pressure mounts on Devon & Cornwall Police to explain their U-turn. Widdecombe, latterly a Reform UK spokeswoman and Brexit Party MEP, was found dead at her home in Haytor, Dartmoor in Devon. Dr Paul Stott joins Talk's Ian Collins. Have you got a story?
