Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime customers could be forced to contribute towards the BBC licence fee under proposals being considered by Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy. One option would introduce a smaller charge for households using streaming services, even if they never watch BBC programmes or live television. Critics have branded the idea an attempt to prop up an outdated system as hundreds of thousands of households abandon the £180 annual licence. The plans remain under discussion and have not yet been approved. Duncan Barkes speaks with campaign director for Defund the BBC, Rebecca Ryan. #news #netflix #money #tax #bbc Have you got a story?
