The United States naval blockade over the Strait of Hormuz is set to come into force, targeting all traffic travelling to and from Iranian ports. Washington says humanitarian shipments will still be allowed through but will be subject to inspections. Iran has rejected the move and insists it will exercise its sovereignty over the strategic waterway, regardless of the consequences. Al Jazeera’s Tohid Asadi reports from Tehran and Patty Culhane joins live from Washington.
