The heart of my talk is the journey of building The Bhopal Film Festival (TBFF) from an idea into a platform that empowers storytellers, filmmakers, and creative voices from across India. In an era where attention spans are shrinking and content is increasingly driven by algorithms, I will explore why authentic storytelling still matters and how regional platforms can create meaningful cultural impact. Through the story of TBFF, I will share the challenges of creating a film festival ecosystem in a city not traditionally associated with the film industry, the importance of providing opportunities to emerging creators, and the role of cinema in preserving local narratives and fostering dialogue. The talk will highlight how TBFF has grown into a space where independent filmmakers, students, artists, and audiences come together to celebrate creativity, exchange ideas, and build community.
