The UK is set to stage its biggest home defence exercise in decades next year, as the country braces itself for the very real possibility of war. Dubbed "Operation Albiston Shadow," the Cabinet Office has confirmed the scenario will likely rope in ministers as well as hundreds of officials from right across government and the public sector. It will put Britain's response to so-called "hybrid" attacks to the test — the kind of threats that fall just below the threshold of all-out conventional warfare.
