The City of Yarra has voted to cancel its six-year e-bike sharing trial with Lime, citing persistent issues with bikes being dumped on footpaths and blocking access for prams and wheelchairs. Yarra Mayor Stephen Jolly states the company refused to adequately police problematic users or contribute financially to address the issues, despite making $900 million internationally last year. The council remains open to alternative providers or a revised proposal that includes stricter user enforcement and proper cost-sharing arrangements.
