Opposition parties moved a resolution to remove Om Birla, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, accusing him of bias in conducting parliamentary proceedings. Under Article 94 of the Constitution of India, a Speaker can be removed only if the resolution is supported by a majority of the House. After a heated debate in Parliament, the motion was put to a voice vote and was defeated, meaning Om Birla continues as the Speaker. Interestingly, attempts to remove a Speaker have happened before in Indian parliamentary history but no Lok Sabha Speaker has ever been removed. #IndianPolitics #LokSabha #OmBirla #Parliament #IndianConstitution #PoliticalNews #BJP #TMC #Modiji #RahulGandhi
