Israeli forces have sealed all entrances to Sinjil, a village of around 7,000 people between Ramallah and Nablus, using earth mounds and a newly erected metal wall. Israel says the barrier protects settlers from stone-throwers, but residents say it has effectively caged the village, leaving no safe route in or out. Some have resorted to digging through the dirt mounds by hand, risking confrontation with soldiers or settlers. The blockade reflects a wider tightening of movement restrictions imposed on Palestinian communities across the occupied West Bank. Al Jazeera’s Nida Ibrahim reports from Sinjil, the occupied West Bank.
